That first question's easyAug 18, 2009
You see, it's because women leave it down. Has anyone in history ever cared to think this one through? It doesn't take much. What we're really saying by this cute little ha-ha relationship conundrum is that women's comfort is all that matters. This isn't like who squeezes the toothpaste from which end. This is saying that men should do two things: lift the seat up; put the seat back down. But a woman is expected to do nothing -- no finger lifted. Why not this: whoever's in the bathroom, just do what they have to do for themselves? Men lift it up, women put it down. Equality of effort. After all, what man insists his lady put the seat back up for when he's in there next? When I explained all this to my girlfriend, she understood completely. And this is the way we do it when she's at my place. However, just to go the extra mile, at her place I lift up AND set back down. I'd rather touch her seat than mine anyway. I give the book the benefit of the doubt on its other puzzlers...but any book that would put THIS dreck on the cover loses at least a star and deserves my immediate ire.
